Many patients with MS experience years of symptoms before receiving their official diagnosis. This is largely due to the fact that many MS symptoms are often thought of as benign or related to other common conditions. However, it is critical that if you experience any of the following in excess, you should pay close attention to what your body may be experiencing — and telling you. Walter Gefrom shares common MS warning signs:

This could mean feeling lightheaded, dizzy or experiencing vertigo, particularly while mobile or standing in place. Many patients with MS experience difficulty in coordinating visual and spatial input, due to damage caused by demyelination.

A unique nonprofit event, the May 50k is a month-long challenge to reach 50 kilometers walked. Each step taken and kilometer clocked translates to life-changing support for treatment access and research on MS. If you’ve got the competitive bug, this may be the charity walk for you! The May 50k website maintains a leaderboard with the top ranked participants.

The leaderboard is divided into categories based on location, workplace, team and individual participation. But most importantly, this virtual event is a new way for people to support the brave individuals who are living with MS every way. Great job, everyone!
