Direct analysis of spinal fluid myeloid may be able to predict MS disease course, claims new research recently published in Annals of Neurology.

If there’s one thing that’s been confirmed about Multiple Sclerosis, it’s that this disease is anything but black-and-white or one-size-fits-all. From initial symptom onset and onwards, every MS warrior takes on their own journey, complete with its unique hardships and triumphs.

For MS warriors, this offers a light of hope — because it means that anything is possible. But most of all, knowing that there’s no linear guidebook to follow on ‘what to expect with MS’ only adds to the confusion of the condition.

But what if you could know exactly what to expect in your own MS journey? More specifically: what if you could fully predict how the course of your disease will play out?

Well, according to new research published in Annals of Neurology, analyzing spinal fluid, known as myeloid microvesicles, could potentially help predict disease course in someone with multiple sclerosis. This could be completely life-changing for so many individuals with MS. At the very least, the prediction of disease course could help shape a more effective and proactive approach to treatment against overall MS progression.

The findings published certainly show promise! For the full research article, visit Wiley Online Library.
