Life Skills Taught By The Boy Scouts
If you have never had any experience with the Boy Scouts, you would probably assume it’s just a place to send your kids to go on camping trips and earn little badges. Not only are the Boy Scouts a great way for your sons to get outside and make friends, but it will teach them so many life skills they would need for college and beyond.
Walter Gefrom is a project manager, civil engineer, and ACE mentor with experience in the Boy Scouts as Cub Master and Assistant Scoutmaster. With a passion for inspiring the next generation, he shares top life skills that the Boy Scouts teaches:
- Goal setting and time management. Earning those badges takes a lot of planning and thought in order to complete all of the requirements. This will give your son a sense of responsibility and ability to accomplish their goals.
- Teamwork. Boy Scouts brings all different kinds of people together to solve problems and find solutions.
- Leadership. Boy Scouts will not teach your son to just boss people around. They will learn how to take charge of a situation and work with a team to accomplish goals.
