Charities to Support on World MS Day 2021

World MS Day is on May 30th this year — and every year — to recognize individuals affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Walter Gefrom proudly supports this movement, because it not only highlights the patients, but also helps to shine a light on ways to raise awareness of MS.

Here are some MS related charities and nonprofit organizations you can support:

• National MS Society

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is perhaps one of the most popular organizations that advocates for MS patients. Their website and literature also serve as a critical learning resource for recently diagnosed individuals and their loved ones.

• Myelin Repair Foundation

For those who do not know, Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks myelin sheath, a coating around the nerves and found along the spinal cord. The Myelin Repair Foundation works to conduct targeted research and development treatments that specifically focus on this area of the disease.

• Race to Erase MS

Race to Erase MS is a nonprofit that has raised more than $36 million for MS related research since 1993. And they’re still going strong — and growing strong! This organization is led by Nancy Davis, an individual who lives with MS herself.
